Common Problems

Level:IntermediateWritten for:Support and Key UsersTime to complete:3 minApplies to:Applies to 1.0 and later

The problems reported most often, with their causes and fixes.

Find the symptom that matches what you are seeing, then work through the fix in order. If the problem persists, the last step of each section tells you what to include when you contact support — sending that information first time round saves a day of back-and-forth.

The Submit button is disabled

Either a required field is empty, or no approver can be found for the transaction value.

  1. Scroll up — fields in error are outlined with the reason underneath.
  2. Check the approver shown on the transaction. If it is blank, no approver has a sufficient limit.
  3. Ask an administrator to check approval limits for your organisation unit.
A transaction is stuck in Pending Approval

Open it and look at the named approver. If it is blank, the transaction is unroutable — no user has both the Approve permission and a sufficient limit. The Unroutable Transactions report lists every such case; an administrator fixes it by raising a limit or adding an approver.

The approver is not who I expected

Routing uses the transaction value against approver limits within your organisation unit, escalating upward until a limit covers it. A surprising approver usually means your user record sits in a different organisation unit than you assume.

Export produces an empty file

The export runs against the current result set, so an empty report exports an empty file. Confirm the report returned rows on screen first. If it did and the file is still empty, check that a browser extension is not blocking the download.

Notifications are not arriving
  1. Check Configuration → User Configuration — notifications are opt-in per event type.
  2. Confirm the email address on your user record.
  3. Check your spam folder, and ask IT whether the application’s sending domain is allow-listed.
  4. In-app notifications work independently of email; if those arrive and email does not, the problem is mail delivery.
A field I need is not on the screen

Screen layouts are configurable per transaction type and per role. The field may exist but be hidden for your role. An administrator can check the layout configuration.
