Questions FinGrow branch staff and field agents ask most often.
Members
Section titled “Members”Can a member hold two loans at once?
Yes, if the scheme allows it and the member has no overdue instalment. The limit on concurrent loans is set per scheme.
How do I transfer a member to another branch?
Settle or transfer every active loan and deposit first, then use Members → Transfer. A member cannot hold accounts in two branches.
What makes a member dormant?
No transaction for the period set in your configuration, usually twelve months. Reactivation is a counter formality with fresh KYC confirmation.
Can I change the interest rate on a disbursed loan?
No. The rate is fixed at disbursement and the schedule is derived from it. A rate change means closing the loan and re-disbursing under new terms.
What happens if a guarantor leaves the society?
The loan continues, but the guarantee weakens. Most societies require a replacement guarantor before releasing the departing member's own deposits.
Why does a part payment barely reduce the principal?
Payments are applied to penalty first, then interest, then principal. The receipt shows the split — showing it to the member usually ends the conversation.
Collections
Section titled “Collections”Can an agent collect from a member outside their route?
Not on the generated sheet. Exceptional collections are posted at the counter against the member directly.
What if an agent loses a collection sheet?
Reprint it — the sheet is a working document, not the record. The record is what has been posted and reconciled.
Can I reverse a posted collection?
Only on the same day, before the day book is closed, and it is recorded as a reversal rather than removed.
Still stuck?
